Piper is on the road out of the woods

I am always wondering what the doctors and nurses are really saying when I ask, "how is Piper really doing?" So today I asked differently. "If Piper was in the dark woods, could you now say that she is on the road out of the dark woods?" Answer: ”YES”. Could she see the sunlight?" Answer: “YES”. They did a test for spinal meningitis today... negative... yea.

I decided that Piper is a patriotic chameleon. When she was delivered she was stark white... she rapidly turned red. Hours later she was blue and they hauled her off to the NICU. White, Red and Blue...

Well, today she was Yellow. So I thought... hmmm... The chameleon changes colors when they are angry... She use to have the prime 8th floor window bed and they moved her away from the window... I think she wants to go back to the great view. She is not very yellow... she is ok.

Mel is officially "nesting". Tiny room but it is free, and close to Piper and that is a good thing...

Sharla, Jake and Abby drove up to meet Piper today. Abby was very excited... but, she wasn't able to see Piper because she was in NICU... no windows to the hall. Thankfully a very friendly nurse was taking a baby out of NICU and he went along with telling Abby that the baby was Piper... we will see if we got away with it someday... Abby doesn't miss much.

Mel made the trip to EZ's for a quick dinner... about 4 blocks away... she had a little trouble getting in and out of the car... Other than that, she is doing great.

Thank you God.

thanks Joe. Always ready to hear news. And your way is so fun.

Poet and don't know it: white, red, blue, hauled off to the NICU. She is a special little girl with a special family.

Woman of many colors always means something special.
