Piper is "technically" a well baby... lawyers make doctors talk funny...
It's Father's Day and another doctor was filling in at NICU. He said that Piper is technically a well baby.
Hallelujah!
No bacteria has grown on the culture that they took. This doctor thinks that Piper's immune system may have already kicked in and beat the bacteria back, before they took the culture. Piper won that battle, but it was close to a tie. She definitely was a very sick girl but we probably won't know the cause. Which is unsettling... But... Piper is a now a well baby. She will stay in NICU until Thursday to finish up the IV antibiotics.
They will do a check on her heart on Monday. There was a calcium spot that showed up there during a pregnancy ultrasound...
