Starting Over

The Pecan slab on top of the hall cabinet I built didn't look so good unstained.  I had hoped for more of an amber tone but it just turned yellow... so off went the finish and on went the stain...

UNFORTUNATELY....  

I found a little spot of dust on the top the next day after I put it on top of the cabinet.  I wiped the dust off and then walked by it about an hour later... another little spot of dust.... mmmmmm.

BUGS!  It was sawdust from a worm !

My worm eaten slab of Pecan still has worms!  I spent two days treating it for bugs when I brought it home... but  it appears I didn't get the job done.  So the slab is in a heavy duty contractor black plastic bag in the side yard now.  I will have to sand the finish off again and treat it again... or just toss it... I'm thinking toss it right now.
