Mommy and Daddy flew the coop

Melissa and Billy headed off to the Northwest to play in Seattle and spend some  quality time at a Young Life camp in the San Juan Islands in Canada.  The only way to get to the camp is by boat or sea plane.  The ferry was under repair so they had to take long rides in a water taxi to get there.  That turned out to be a good thing as they were able to park in the middle of a pod of Orcas.  The Orcas swam all around the boat and they got up front and personally acquainted.  Maybe Kim could tell us the name of the pod?  The camp is well over 100 miles north of Seattle and it took almost a whole day to get there.  They even got to see bioluminescent algae.

Try an internet search for "Young Life Camp Malibu photos"  and you will find some amazing photos... I need to go there.

When in Seattle we all feel the need to take an obligatory ferry across the Puget Sound.

The twin sisters spent some time together.

While Mom and Daddy were away, Mimi was they typical "Energizer Mimi".  She amazes me with the amount of energy and love she has for her grandkids.  She inspires me to be a better PopPop, so tried a solo trip to Sea World with one grand daughter.  One on one.  It was a challenge to see who would wear out first.  It is fun being able to see the world through a 3 year olds eyes.

It's amazing how much sugar a 3 year old can eat...  just kidding... I have limits on spoiling... not so for Mimi...

Someone is a bit shy... like her Mommy was.

Guess who wore out first?

I won!!!

Hank the Tank is really into trucks and one day we were given a gift.  A false alarm across the street.
It is great to have this video on my phone for diaper changing or clothes changing... he is mesmerized by it and lays perfectly still... it is still a two person job at times... for me anyway.  I prefer to hold the phone while Mimi changes the diaper.

It was fun playing with all of the grandkids. There were lots of great hugs.  We even had Katie and Abby for a long weekend before Piper and Hank showed up for over a week.  There are foot prints and finger prints everywhere that will soon be wiped free... but the memories will last forever.

Mimi and PopPop are blessed and we know it.

We didn't get to see Moose, but we got a great photo on him enjoying unusually warm weather last week... looking good Moose... growing fast.  Soaking up sunshine before June-uary hits with rain and cold...
