Kitchen Update...

It's been a long time since I started the kitchen remodel and I am a very fortunate man to be able to say... "I am still married".  I have thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the project but I am starting to read about the fall Redfish fishing with great envy.

The kitchen is now 10 by 20.  It used to be 10 by 10.  The layout is working great, and it is almost a pleasure to empty the dishwasher (I said almost) because it can be done so quickly.

As you enter the kitchen.  No wall above the sink.  Yes... that is a flat panel TV in the dining room... soon to be covered by a picture frame and a see through mirror.

Looking into the old kitchen from the breakfast area.  No more 1970 drop down ceiling light box.

This is the left corner of the old breakfast area.  There used to be a window where the ovens are.  We have new energy efficient windows throughout the house.  The ceilings are all tongue and groove 1 by 4's.  Crown molding still to be applied.

This is the right corner of the old breakfast area.  Martha got refrigerator drawers for her birthday and I got a soft ice, ice maker for mine.

Where will we eat breakfast now that there is no breakfast area...  in the breakfast booth of course.  It will be big enough to seat 6 adults.  I was testing out the designed size of the table with a piece of plywood in this photo.  The booth will be the darker wood... knotty alder.

And you are asking me the completion date.... ???????

When I get done I will let you know...  I have been threatening to have an annual "almost done party"... what do you think?
