...But it is getting a little more fun everyday. The last of the wood ceiling (in the dining room) should be up this weekend and the last of the lights up and running... lights are good... there are lots of them. This photo is of the old breakfast area. The new windows are in and there will soon be kitchen cabinets under them. The windows will be framed in knotty alder... like the cabinets in that area. The ceiling is beaded pine 1x4's... love it... it will be painted white.
We have the tile floor down in the kitchen... I decided to hire that out... as I still have a hitch in my git-a-long. We now know a great tile guy.
All of the wall texture is done and it matches the old stuff... thank goodness. All of the down stairs popcorn is gone... yea...
I hope to start building the cabinet boxes next week. I have talked the granite fabricator into doing the granite in two stages. They will do the sink and stove area first. While they are fabricating that area I will do the other half of the cabinets in the new area of the kitchen. The breakfast booth comes last.
I am doing physical therapy for my ankle and sciatic nerve three times a week... I am trying not to lift anything over 10 pounds... it seems the hole I stepped in at the golf course (on April 27th) really did mess up my hip/back and my ankle. I may be getting old... nah.
Anyone know how much a 14 year old refrigerator weighs? It was worth $22 to the scrap metal people... for the rebate it had to be recycled... it didn't weigh much after I took it apart and loaded it in pieces. It looked like a behemoth in our kitchen...
