A little bit of news hit home yesterday. I am on call... 24 hours a day... the PopPop baby sitting service. While that is almost always true, yesterday there was a reminder.
Sharla is trying to make her last few days with one child, be a wonderful time for Abby. They are doing... and doing. Yesterday it was the Zoo... before it was museums... swimming... etc. It seems that there are starting to be a few reminders that she is 8 and a half months pregnant... contractions!
It has been going on for a while... a few days... just those practice contractions... not to worry. Ha! C-section scheduled on the 6th of July... right...
In a crisis, I meet the gang at labor and delivery and take Abby off on an adventure... man... I better get busy dreaming things up.
There is one tradition that I do look forward to. Chocolate pie. I do prefer "Martha's Famous Cherry Pie", but the tradition is Chocolate pie. On the morning after the second child is born the #1 child gets Chocolate pie for breakfast... and so does Grandpa... and who ever else is around.
Yes... the Chocolate pie ingredients are in the pantry... the "Energizer Mommy" thought of everything.
Ah... a new name for Martha... "Energizer Mommy"... sounds better than "Energizer Mimi"... I think. She is still going and going...

NOOOOOOO! Katie, stay put!
Ok, I can't be that selfish, can I? Katie, you just be healthy girl and come when it's time.
(but please wait till AnKim gets there if you can!) :)
Can't wait to see Abby eat chocolate cake when Katie is born.
These are the kind she is having... I think... from the internet.
"A Braxton Hicks contraction is defined by Taber's Medical dictionary as an intermittent, painless contraction that may occur every 10 to 20 minutes after the first trimester of pregnancy".
I wonder if a guy wrote the "painless" part of the definition?
Is Marmie responsible for this tradition/I recall hearing that Sharla got chocolate pie for breakfast when Kim was born! (Did Kim get pie when Mel was born?) Marmie did love chocolate pie!!!
You're a great PopPop, Joe!
Puntie was responsible for the chocolate pie tradition. He actually gave it to Sharla the day Kim was born. Marmie went with me to the hospital and he was in charge. What were we thinking!!
Marmie would have given her chocolate pie too. she always ate my vegetables. :)
