A peek... at a Lake Powell trip

We explore narrow canyons...

Sometimes the lures are bigger than the fish...

Sometimes we just LAUGH!!

You have to be careful what you say... or you end up eating with the dog!

Our home awaits our return from exploring

Up and fishing before the sun

And sometimes we are sucessful

Kayaking

The reflections... visually... and emotionally are wonderful

The clouds from this sunset brought a little wind

Sometimes we catch fish...

You can usually find one of us in a big arch every trip... look close... Find Scott and Kim

The sunset can be great...

Getting up early... is well...
Sometimes you have a good day fishing... even if you don't catch fish...

This is a favorite beach... each one gets a name

We take everything but the kitchen sink... this is almost true...

Some people think the water is cold... Californians don't... Female Texans do.

Sometimes we ski...

We did two Lake Powell trips in 2004... May and Oct. This was a cool day in May. This is out favorite beach... "Totally Awesome Beach"... but, every year we find a new favorite beach.

I'm up for another trip. I need a good, long vacation. Can we make sure Navajo Mountain is the only place cell phones still work though?

Man, I still think about our invitation to Lake Powell that we had to decline b/c of my work.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

I tried to fix a typo and deleted my last comment... saved it before I deleted it... yea.

Navajo Mountain actually has a red light on the antenna now... sad.

There is a repeater antenna (Verizon - I think) at Bullfrog now, so cellphones usually work at Halls Crossing. That is nice when you are trying to meet up with someone... although I have never minded waiting in the middle of the lake for a phone call... beer in one hand and fishing pole in the other... never caught a fish at that spot...try all the time.

I would like to go after Amanda's wedding... may go.

It will cost about $800 round trip, gas alone to go there with the boat... $4.00 gal average cost... 10-12 mpg towing the boat.

billy suess volunteers to take my place as "your only son" .... and he will be the new anchor scallywag.
dad, you have 3 sons now...plenty of scallywags. get those eden's boys and you'll have 5 sons. that's more than one wag per anchor!!!
the girls will sit on the beach and direct. we will also do the work of scouting out a good rock bombing spot.
the only thing you and big d will have to do is be captains!

Wow... didn't know I had posts down here...

Lake Powell is not a good place for small children. They have to wear a life jacket all the time they are on the boat... houseboat ... docks... When we were checking the boat out last year a 4 year old girl disappeared from the rental docks. Divers worked for 4 days and they finally found her. Parents weren't watching their 2 kids very well and they didn't have life jackets on. We looked all around for her. She was the older of the 2 kids. Very sad.
