Abby's Bookcase

Abby needed a bookcase she could reach for her books. Sharla thought about buying a cheap-o square thing... to just make do... and PopPop though he could do it for half price... and pretty darn quickly. But, alas he couldn't come up with something square that would be fun to build...

So PopPop used 5 pine stair-treads he found at Home Depot. He cut dadoes, rabets and buiscut slots... he didn't know what that was last year... and then glued and screwed it all together. He didn't make plans... mistake... he spent a lot of time scratching his head and trying to figure out where to make cuts... grumbling.. he had to go back and get one more board. But, he knows that every project requires at least 2 extra trips for something that got messed up or forgotten... even simple projects.

chesley says amen to that last quote. Been there done that.

Pam says great work. You even finish it. CE just gives them to the kids unfinished. Got to work on that. Don't tell me Marhta paints it.

Nope... she doesn't paint... she did do the fabric on the chair.
