Martha's older brother Robert, who lives in the Waco area, was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. He was diagnosed in Waco. Early this week they attempted to transport him to MD Anderson by ambulance, but it was dropped because of his abnormally high heart rate. They did successfully fly him there by air ambulance last night. The treatment for AML is a very intense chemo treatment that lasts one week. Possibly bone marrow transplant.
He reports that he is surrounded by some very bright doctors (most of whom are foreign and very hard to understand)... he likes them.
The news right now is... they think he has been misdiagnosed... because he just isn't sick enough... so they are re-running all of the tests, including bone marrow test.
We have been praying for a misdiagnosis... now we are praying for a quick curable problem.
An amazing fact... Robert's daughter, Shelli, donated bone marrow to an AML patient very recently and that person is in remission... ... ...
