27 Days Into Destruction

I have a kind loving wife... I have been playing golf 3 days a week... lucky guy. When I am not doing that I am working hard. This has been fun... but, the most fun part is about to start. Building... destruction is 90% done... in 3 days it will be one month... The kitchen is still functional... minus the ovens.

Electrician will be here to finish up all of the re-wiring in the next couple of days. and then the ceiling and walls finish up. Then I start building cabinets... which is more my comfort zone. We ordered all of our new appliances today... we be stimulators of the economy... for sure.

The windows could come next week... and the new back door.

The breakfast booth will go where the old cabinets are sitting. The old backdoor has been moved to the new position. The window to the left was one of the vertical hallway windows that I took apart, cut the glass and frame down... and then reassembled and installed in a sideways position... until the new windows come in. That widow is 30" tall by 5 feet wide. Martha's side of the booth will have a great view of the trees and I will have a great view of my loving wife.

Notice the healthy breakfast I had today?

You can see the three beams that have gone up to replace the walls that came down. This photo is taken from the entry hallway just as you turn towards the kitchen.

Notice the home made air filtration system on wheels... made from an old air conditioner blower... cool... it sucks and blows really well... it has three filters...

Looking through the kitchen to the dining room... it will be a casual dining room now. The vinyl floor will finally go when the cabinets are in... it will be new tile from the entry...down the hall... through the kitchen and the dining room. The new ceiling for the booth, kitchen and dining room will be tongue and groove pine painted white.

The cabinets you see here and by the stove will be new ... and white... simple design. All other cabinets to the left and the booth will be dark cherry stained knotty alder... also the same simple design. The beams will be white. The appliances are all stainless. I had planned on putting an induction cooktop in, but decided the technology isn't reliable enough at this time. It is cool though. We are excited about the new appliances... in the last month the refrigerator door hinge started hanging up, the dishwasher started clouding up everything and the ovens went on the blink... I guess we started a month too late.

We decided to put in a ice maker that makes ice like Sonic's ice... I have heard lots of ice maker sagas... still decided to dive in... we really like Sonic limeades for the ice...

Next photos... the new ceiling... I hope.

I'm just so impressed with all you've done. Jess I have to go with you because I need to visualize it more.
Let's go over when the Architiet Digest magazine goes over to take progression pictures. Maybe we'll be in them. :)
