I am getting excited... I am almost done...I still have to paint the crown molding, and build an insert for ribbon storage...
This room is my practice before doing the kitchen. Building cabinets is not that hard... but, installing them to not very square walls is a challenge... but I learned a few tricks along the way.
I used half of the hanging area for a new cabinet... I call it a wrapping station.
To help give back a little hanging space I installed two 10 inch long hanging bars in the wall... those round button looking things in the wall... they pull out 10 inches. One is high enough to hang long items... and yes, Martha can reach it.
The drawers are 24 inches wide and 24 inches deep... for gift bags and tissue paper.
The shorter cabinet next to the freezer replaced the only cabinet on this side of the room... everything else is totally new. The laundry chute from the master bath is still in there, but I stole a little space for my cheap wine storage...
And... to the girls... yes we finally got rid of the 31 year old avocado colored freezer... it ran 31 years without a hitch... it was a Montgomery Ward freezer.
Pull out storage for 20 rolls of wrapping paper... 30 inches long.
This is a 24 x 24 inch pullout work surface to wrap presents or fold laundry. The work surface is the same dark speckled Formica that is on the counter tops. This was my biggest challenge. The drawer slides for this are heavy duty... it will hold up to 220 pounds... they were not very forgiving ... but in the end I got everything square.
I still have to build an insert to fit next to the paper storage pullout... that will be for ribbon and etc...
Then it will be on to the entertainment center... and goodbye to the redneck tv stand... :-)

Dad! What great work! I can't wait to see it in person! You've got talent.
Really looks nice - you have alot of talent (now you just needed to invent an automated folder, hanger, ironer : - >
Already have a automated folder, hanger, ironer...works real good... most of the time... sometimes it gets a little temperamental... :-o
