Pox

Whew... no Chicken Pox story to tell...

Sharla has her last doctors appointment tomorrow. Abby will come to play with PopPop tomorrow while Mommy is at the doctor. We did the same thing last week. Time flew, we had a blast. It takes a lot of my energy to keep up with her, but she was kind to me last week... and good. When Sharla came to pick her up she was quiet for a while and then she asked me for a hug... no problem there... I love hugging her. I walk to the other side of the room and I hear her say "PopPop I love you"... It's the first time she has put that sentence together... I look and she is straight faced and very serious. She means it. She has set the hook... and I am wrapped around her little finger even more now.

It's a week later now and I am wondering if a 2 year old knew that there was new competition... Piper... Probably so... but it just makes me love her more... One week from today Katie will be here, and her life will change again.

Abby meant it. I had the same experience with Mattie Sue and she meant it. Connection made, never to be broken. What a feeling that was. So glad to know someone else knows that feeling.

The others will follow because we love them just the same and just hope they love us like Abby and Mattie Sue.

Glad there wasn't a Pox story, I think.

Actually, there is a pox story, just not in this family. At least not this week... chicken pox is going around Alamo Heights... we are keeping watch, but not house-bound... there will be plenty of house-arrest after July 6th when I am banned by my dr from driving for a month & also paralyzed by the prospect of keeping up with a toddler and infant in public!
