After the Balloon Fiesta we headed up into the mountains and to Los Alamos.
That was the morning of the balloon crash in Albuquerque. The balloon that crashed is the up-side-down pyramid that is in several videos on the earlier post.
It was a dreary week on Wall Street and we were looking forward to happy memories of the past.
We don't often stop at Camel Rock... on the way... but it had been a while... so we went for a photo shoot.
We were blessed with a beautiful sunset the first night in Los Alamos. The next day there were some old bald guys watching the UT/Oklahoma game during a tremendous storm. Yea, for the Holiday Inn Express lobby...

Next, we headed up the mountain to check out the Aspens. We found thunder, rain, sleet, hail and snow... and some Aspens. There was a break in the weather every so often and this is one of them.
We did get Martha out of the car for the photo shoot.

Dick and Joyce posed for the camera at the Valle Grande. It one of the stops we always make when we go to Los Alamos. The Valley was formed by a volcanic explosion 500 times greater than Mt. St. Helens... a million years ago.
A little later we stopped to video a burned out area, and got surprised... you can hear the thunder just as the video starts. There were lots of burned trees that had fallen recently... one had just been cleaned up... it had fallen across the road... we didn't stay long here.
There are lots of young Aspens in the huge burn areas above Los Alamos. The color in the coming years will be wonderful.
We did take the time to remember Marmie and Puntie...
